Every LEGO® Speed Champions Motorsport-Derived Road Cars Set

Twelve LEGO® Speed Champions sets carry the “motorsport-derived” tag — sets where the road car borrows hardware, software, or thinking directly from a racing programme. Eleven of the twelve are 8-stud-era releases, making this the line's largest exclusively-modern theme. The pattern this hub captures: in the post-2010 era, halo road cars increasingly trickle technology down from race cars rather than the older direction of road cars feeding into racing.

The cluster's clearest motorsport-to-road links sit at the top end of the catalogue. Mercedes-AMG F1 W12 E Performance & Mercedes-AMG Project One (LEGO® 76909, 2022) is the most explicit example — the W12's 1.6L turbo-hybrid F1 power unit became the road-going Project One's drivetrain, the closest thing to a Formula 1 engine ever sold for the road. McLaren W1 (LEGO® 77257, 2026) uses the M380 4.0L V8 originally developed for McLaren's GT3 customer-racing programme. Ferrari SF90 XX Stradale (LEGO® 77254, 2026) is the road-legal evolution of the XX track-only programme. Porsche 911 GT3 RS (LEGO® 77239, 2025) borrows the 992 GT3 R race-car aerodynamics and Manthey-Racing chassis development directly from the customer-GT3 programme.

The customer-and-prototype pair-ups in this cluster show the pattern from another angle. Lamborghini Urus ST-X & Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo EVO (LEGO® 76899, 2020) — the road-derived Urus ST-X is built off the road-going Urus chassis, the Huracán Super Trofeo evolves a road-going Huracán. Porsche 963 (LEGO® 76916, 2023) is the LMDh prototype that uses Multimatic-developed chassis tech shared across the BMW M Hybrid V8 and Cadillac V-Series.R — Porsche then announced the 963 RSP road-legal one-off, the closest-to-road LMDh anyone has built. 1970 Ferrari 512 M (LEGO® 76906, 2022) is the period equivalent — a sports-prototype racer designed for the same chassis lineage as Ferrari's 512 BB road car.

Three sets in the cluster occupy the “modern road car directly trickling from racing” slot. Lamborghini Revuelto & Huracán STO (LEGO® 77238, 2025) — the Revuelto's V12-hybrid platform was developed alongside Lamborghini's Le Mans Hypercar programme. Ford Mustang Dark Horse (LEGO® 76920, 2024) borrows IMSA Mustang GT3 cooling and aero details. Audi S1 e-tron quattro Race Car (LEGO® 76921, 2024) is the Dakar-spec EV that returned Audi to the rally programme it left in 1986. NASCAR Next Gen Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 (LEGO® 76935, 2024) and Nissan GT-R NISMO (LEGO® 76896, 2020) close the cluster — the NASCAR car borrowing road-car silhouette branding, the GT-R NISMO borrowing GT3 customer-racing aerodynamics for road use. Ferrari F40 Competizione (LEGO® 75890, 2019) is the cluster's only 6-stud entry, kept here because the F40 LM's flat-floor and wing pack were the racing-car evolution of an already racing-derived road car.
