HYBRID HYPERCAR
McLaren P1
“Holy Trinity” member
The P1’s drivetrain combined a 3.8-litre twin-turbo M838TQ V8 (727 hp) with an electric motor and 4.7 kWh battery for 903 hp combined. Top speed was electronically limited to 350 km/h. The car used active aerodynamics with a deployable rear wing and ride-height adjustment.
Production was limited to 375 customer cars (plus 5 prototype/pre-production), all sold before delivery began. McLaren followed with the P1 GTR — a track-only customer-storage programme with 986 hp combined output and 58 cars built. The P1 was the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 (1992-98).
