Porsche 918 Spyder

One of the “Holy Trinity” hybrid hypercars — the 918 Spyder, in 6-stud Speed Champions form.

Set #75910 2015 154 pieces 6-stud Retired

The Porsche 918 Spyder was launched in 2013 alongside two other plug-in-hybrid hypercars — the Ferrari LaFerrari and the McLaren P1 — in a triumvirate that came to be known as the “Holy Trinity”. Each was V8 (LaFerrari V12) plus electric motors; each cost over $1m; each redefined what a hybrid drivetrain could deliver in performance terms. The 918 Spyder was the only one with all-wheel drive (electric motor on the front axle), and the only one to set a sub-7-minute Nürburgring lap.

“Holy Trinity” member

The 918’s drivetrain combined a 4.6-litre V8 derived from the RS Spyder LMP2 race-car engine (608 hp) with two electric motors (one front, one rear) and a 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery. Combined output was 887 hp; combined torque 1,275 Nm.

Production was limited to 918 units. The 918 set a 6:57 Nürburgring lap in 2013 — the first sub-7-minute time on the Nürburgring Nordschleife by a road car. Removable roof targa panels were standard.

Six-stud 918
