Toyota GR Supra

The fifth-generation Supra returns after a 17-year hiatus — under the skin, a BMW Z4 with Toyota chassis tuning.

Set #76901 2021 302 pieces 8-stud Retired

When Toyota retired the A80 Supra in 2002, the nameplate sat unused for seventeen years. The A90 Supra returned in 2019 as a joint-development programme with BMW: shared platform, shared engines (BMW B58 and B48), shared assembly plant in Graz, but separate chassis tuning by Toyota Gazoo Racing. The result is one of the more debated modern sports cars — derided as a rebadged Z4 by purists, defended on its driving merits by everyone who’s actually driven one.

MODERN GT

Toyota GR Supra

BMW co-developed sports car

The A90 Supra launched with BMW’s B58 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six (335 hp at launch, raised to 382 hp for 2021+) and a four-cylinder B48 option in some markets. Transmission was an eight-speed automatic until a six-speed manual joined the lineup in 2022 as a chassis-engineering response to enthusiast feedback.

Toyota Gazoo Racing tuned the chassis separately from the BMW Z4. The cars share their wheelbase, suspension geometry and powertrains; the dampers, anti-roll bars, electronic differential and stability programs are unique to each.

The build

Eight-stud A90

76901 is the 8-stud chassis Speed Champions has used since 2022. The Supra’s long bonnet, double-bubble roof and steeply-raked windscreen translate well at this scale; the rear ducktail spoiler is a printed element.

The 90th anniversary red is captured by a printed body shell, with stickers for the side-vent fascia and rear lights.
