Porsche 919 Hybrid

Porsche’s LMP1 Hybrid that won Le Mans three years running (2015–17) — in 6-stud Speed Champions form.

Set #75887 2018 170 pieces 6-stud Retired

The Porsche 919 Hybrid was the most efficient prototype of the LMP1-Hybrid era — a 2.0-litre V4 turbo running an 8 MJ/lap energy-recovery system, in a chassis that won Le Mans in 2015, 2016 and 2017 and the WEC manufacturers’ title each of those years. After Porsche pulled out at the end of 2017, the team converted the chassis into the unrestricted “919 Evo” that broke the Nürburgring lap record. This Speed Champions set captures the race-spec car.

LMP1 HYBRID

Porsche 919 Hybrid

Three-time Le Mans winner

The 919’s drivetrain combined a 2.0-litre 90-degree V4 turbocharged petrol engine driving the rear wheels with a hybrid system: an MGU-K on the front axle (battery-supplied) plus an MGU-H on the turbo (battery-charging). Combined output peaked above 900 hp.

Le Mans wins came in 2015 (Hulkenberg / Tandy / Bamber), 2016 (Lieb / Dumas / Jani after the leading Toyota broke late) and 2017 (Bernhard / Bamber / Hartley). Porsche took the WEC manufacturers’ title in each of those three years before withdrawing from LMP1 to redirect resources to Formula E.

The build

Six-stud LMP1

75887 is the 6-stud-wide Speed Champions chassis. The 919’s long, low silhouette and high-mounted rear wing translate well; the closed cockpit is rendered with a single transparent canopy element.

The white-red-black Porsche Motorsport livery is delivered through stickers across both side-pods. Apply the door stickers carefully — the Porsche Motorsport script runs across two panels.
