McLaren Formula 1 Car

Lando Norris’s 2023-spec McLaren MCL60 in polybag form — the year papaya stopped being a midfield colour.

Set #30683 2024 58 pieces 8-stud Current

When McLaren rolled the MCL60 out of its first European-summer factory upgrade at the 2023 Austrian Grand Prix, it became the second-fastest car on the grid almost overnight. Lando Norris drove it to seven podiums in the second half of the year, Oscar Piastri took his first F1 podium in Japan, and Woking concluded a season that had started in Q1-elimination with fourth in the constructors’ championship. This polybag captures that car.

McLaren MCL60

The mid-season transformation

The Austrian Grand Prix B-spec floor and side-pod package put the MCL60 within reach of the Red Bull RB19 for the first time. Across the second half of 2023, McLaren took 261 of its 302 points — the largest in-season swing of the post-2022-rules era.

Norris finished four times second; Piastri took his maiden podium in the Japanese GP and added a sprint win at Qatar. The MCL60 set up McLaren’s 2024 — the year the team won the constructors’ championship for the first time since 1998.

Display ideas

  • Display alongside the 77245 (Red Bull RB20) for a 2023–24 papaya-vs-Red-Bull narrative.

The build

Polybag papaya

30683 is a small, quick-build polybag — fewer than 80 pieces, with the McLaren papaya rendered as a printed orange shell and a single sticker for the cockpit number.

Best displayed alongside a full-scale McLaren F1 set (or a road-car McLaren) — polybags work hardest as scale or family contrast pieces.
