Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2 car & Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY

Two electric Jaguars — the Formula E GEN2 single-seater and the I-PACE eTROPHY support-series racer.

Set #76898 2020 571 pieces 8-stud Retired

Formula E’s GEN2 era (2018–22) was the first time the championship’s cars could finish a race on a single battery, and Panasonic Jaguar Racing was one of the most committed entries — a manufacturer team running its own bodywork over the spec Spark chassis. Alongside the main series, Jaguar ran a one-make support series for SUV-class cars: the I-PACE eTROPHY. This dual set is the only LEGO® rendering of either programme.

Two electric Jaguars from the same Formula E era, 25 years apart in road-car heritage. The Panasonic Jaguar Racing Gen2 was the team's race car for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 Formula E championships, fully battery-electric and capable of regenerating energy under braking. The Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY supported it as a one-make support series — same I-PACE silhouette as the road SUV but stripped, caged, and racing on Formula E weekends. Two Jaguars, one electrification story, told at race speed.

FORMULA E

Formula E Panasonic Jaguar Racing GEN2

GEN2-era electric racer

The GEN2 chassis was Formula E’s second-generation car, introduced for the 2018–19 season. It was the first FE car to complete a full race distance on one battery (240 kWh charge, 250 kW peak power, 280 km/h top speed). Panasonic Jaguar Racing ran it for four seasons before the GEN3 transition.

Notable Jaguar GEN2 results include Mitch Evans’ Rome E-Prix victory in 2019 — the team’s first Formula E race win — and a string of pole positions across 2020-21.

ELECTRIC SUV RACER

Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY

Support-series SUV

The eTROPHY ran 2018–20 as the Formula E support series — a one-make championship for the road I-PACE SUV stripped of weight and given racing seat, harness, suspension and aero kit. Output stayed at 400 hp through both motors (front and rear axle).

It was the first FIA-sanctioned championship for production-based electric vehicles. The series ran 12 events across two seasons, was won by Bryan Sellers (2018–19) and Sergio Jimenez (2019–20), and was discontinued after Jaguar refocused effort on the main FE programme.

  • Position the GEN2 ahead of the I-PACE — mirroring the actual Saturday-of-an-E-Prix race-weekend layout.
  • Pair with any modern Jaguar road-car LEGO® set (where available) for an electric-Jaguar shelf.

The build

Two builds, both electric

The GEN2 single-seater is built around an open-cockpit Speed Champions chassis with a printed front nose and the FE halo rendered as a single transparent moulding. Stickers carry the Panasonic and Jaguar logos.

The I-PACE eTROPHY is wider, taller and far blockier than typical Speed Champions cars — mostly because the road I-PACE is itself an SUV. The body uses larger printed panels for the side-pod sponsor blocks.
